Waiting Away Our Lives

Today, March 30th 2011, is Ivy decision day. So I've been told and guessing by the number of people freaking out around me. I just have to say to you guys, and to anyone applying/waiting for decisions at any point in time:
don't freak out over this. it really isn't worth it.
Freaking out won't increase your chances of getting in (you're all in somewhere anyway so what's to worry?). It won't make the emails/notifications come out any faster. So just relax, take a deep breath. I'm pretty sure that you're all going to end up going to spectacular places and come out with prestigious acronym-esque degrees.

You're all going to go prematurely gray/have premature wrinkles just from this one day of worrying. It's really not worth it. Just take life as it comes, and worry about everything once you get there :)

So while you all wait for 5pm or whenever your decisions come out, try some of these things that I did whilst waiting:
Eat. a lot.
play piano (/violin/flute/clarinet/the nearest hard surface)
read
novel (/write)
take a bubble bath (actually for me it was a really massively long shower)
dance
sleep
check your emails a little after 6ish.

breathe. inhale. exhale. do yoga. stretch. lie on your bed in an oversized t-shirt. stretch again. breathe more. clear your mind. meditate. burn some candles. eat some more. then breath some more. get dressed at some point. count sheep. dig out your old stuffed animals. doodle. breathe.
go online.
look, conquer, win!

In a week, this will all be over. And we can have our fun experimenting with bonfire parties and 12 years of papers.
